Little Barn Information

Little Barn at 901 Bridgeport Ave, Shelton, CT 06484 is a rustic-chic New American restaurant and bar built around comfort food, craft drinks, and an easygoing neighborhood-pub atmosphere. This Shelton location opened as the brand’s second restaurant after Westport and stands out for its roomy outdoor patio, farmhouse-inspired interior, fireplace, and family-friendly approach. It works especially well for casual lunches, relaxed dinners, drinks with friends, and weekend gatherings rather than formal dining.

Inside, the restaurant leans heavily into the “barn” concept without feeling overly themed: rustic wood accents, farmhouse décor, a fireplace, and a lively bar create a cozy setting in cooler weather, while the large patio is one of the Shelton location’s strongest warm-weather features. Live music has also been part of the Shelton concept, adding energy on busier nights. Families are welcome, with dedicated kids’ choices alongside the regular menu. Takeout and delivery are available in addition to dine-in service.

Hours make Little Barn flexible for both lunch and late dinners. Current published hours are 11:30 a.m.–11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 a.m. Friday, 11 a.m.–12:30 a.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Sunday.

The menu is broad American gastropub territory rather than one narrowly defined specialty. Expect burgers, tacos, sandwiches, salads, bowls, chicken, steak, shareable starters, and comfort-food combinations. The Colossal Pretzel is one of the restaurant’s clearest signatures and makes a sensible first order for a table to share. Burgers and the Philly cheesesteak are approachable choices for newcomers, while steak frites, roasted chicken, crispy shrimp bowls, and General Tso’s cauliflower provide more variety.

Pricing sits in the moderate ($$) range. Current online ordering shows many burgers and sandwiches around the high teens, while larger entrées generally move into the $20–$30 range and steak can cost considerably more.

Customer feedback is strongest around the generous comfort food, giant pretzel, burgers, fresh portions, friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere. The main cautions are inconsistency during busy periods: some diners describe slow or merely average service, a noisy dining room, and occasional execution problems such as bland sides, undercooked meat, or overly heavy preparations.

Little Barn is therefore best for families, groups of friends, casual dates, patio dining, or anyone wanting drinks and substantial American comfort food. Diners seeking a quiet, intimate meal may prefer somewhere less energetic. For a first visit, share the Colossal Pretzel, then choose a burger, cheesesteak, crispy chicken option, or one of the heartier entrées; the Shelton location is particularly well suited to an informal weekend meal or relaxed evening with friends.

What People's Say About Place

Our visit may 2025 was great! we have been back several times. Spot on, worth the ride. We actually spent 2 days in Shelton was a Romance kinda dance for us! Clean, fresh food Atmosphere spot on Bar server excellent +Priceless staff

Came in with a group of colleagues for lunch on a weekday… they get somewhat busy at lunchtime here and rightly so… they have a great menu, loaded with tasty options and their execution is on point. Service was pretty good too. The venue itself is nicely laid out and decorated… very nice for business lunch meetings! The items we tried we all really enjoyed. I got their shrimp bowl and the shrimp was make perfectly. The rice aspect was on the dry side, but I asked for some sriracha and extra sauce they put on top and added that and it spiked up the dish nicely. Overall, nice visit! Would highly recommend!

Pulled up and had the tariyaki salmon, bacon egg and cheese burger, Rueben eggroll, Mac and cheese and a . The pretzel (comes in at number 2 behind arougas), Reuben egg rolls and salmon tariyaki was made to perfection service was cool and drink was on point. I like this.

The portions were large. Which is always a good thing the toppings on the portions for pretty good The burgers were juicy the onion rings were not overcooked that's the same with the tater tots as a sweet potato fries. The mac and cheese came out in a decent sized serving more than enough to fill a youngster add some sodas Andy water served in glass bottles. Everything was good. To full for desert . Yes the little Barn is worth a second trip

American fare. Great for families and large groups. Plenty of casual food to choose from and fast service. Nice choice if you are looking for a casual no fuss place. Busy but you can still hear yourself speak. My chicken wrap was good and fries were yummy. Burgers are amazing! Lots of food and desert options. Another great addition to Shelton!

Let's Do It. Went for a late lunch with a friend. The apps were fantastic. We had the Reuben Eggs and Calamari. For dinner, I had a shrimp bowl, and my friend ordered the Southwest Salad. We split a piece of cheesecake for desert and called it a day. The service was great. To be honest, the food is just ok. Go check it out

Had an impromptu visit with a friend during the week and was looking for a late night entrée. Thankfully we found this restaurant on the way home. Everything was fantastic! We ordered the chicken burrito special that night, along with a chicken pot pie and a southwest salad. All dishes were flavorful and prepared perfectly, as well as generously sized.

Little barn is a nice place to enjoy a meal. We started with the colossal pretzel and it was certainly colossal. The cheese sauce was a bit thin and it had developed a skin on top which indicated it had been sitting for a while. The kids enjoyed it though. For the meal, everything was good. The kids enjoyed their burger and i had the steak frites. The steak came with a glob of herbed butter in the middle, it was OK when spread out but the presentation was somewhat disturbing. Dessert was the best part of the show, we had the special pumpkin lava cake. It was very good, not really a lava cake, but we enjoyed it very much.
